The arms are the paired upper limbs of the human body, extending from the shoulder joints down to the hands. Each arm is made up of three main sections: the upper arm, which contains the humerus bone; the forearm, consisting of two bones called the radius and ulna; and the hand, composed of the wrist, palm, and fingers. The arms are connected to the torso via the shoulder girdle, which provides a wide range of motion. A complex network of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves enables the arms to perform various functions such as lifting, pushing, pulling, holding, and manipulating objects. They are essential for both gross motor skills, like throwing or climbing, and fine motor skills, like writing or buttoning clothes. Beyond their physical functions, arms also contribute to communication through gestures, hugs, and other forms of non-verbal interaction.
